Long time ago I gave a try to Zbrush v1.something and this thing came out of it. Zbrush’s interface is something unusual, at least compared to popular 3d programs, takes some time to get used to it but its power is awesome.
In this case I exported the mesh as obj and imported in 3d Max, the poly count was very high, thankfully Zbrush 2 is able to handle mesh with millions of polygons, also is capable of generating displacement maps. With a displacement map you can use a low poly model and apply a map to it that stores all the depth informations necessary to add the extra geometry that wil be created at render time. The downside of this process is that sometimes it’s hard to set the displacement attributes in the 3d renderer software, in this case 3d max and final render stage 1, to proper recreate the density and details of the mesh like it was in Zbrush.
